In 2020, IPE Global Limited, sought the technical services of Avalon for developing a digital platform that would support the training of girls (aspirants) to join the workforce and delay the age of marriage and first pregnancy. One of the key elements of this project is to better understand the aspirations of adolescent girls, guide them on job availability and market trends, help them in making informed decisions for vocational training and eventually ensure that they have a job at the end of a vocational course. This project named Manzil, has been implemented in a few districts of Rajasthan. IPE Global also partnered with a Smile Foundation, a partner who has been working closely on the field for the project implementation.
The Manzil digital platform is composed of a mobile application used by community mobilisers on the field. This mobile app based on the Flutter technology stack is multi-modular and has various objectives - from capturing the profile of an out of school girl, enrolling her in a training center based on her aspiration and eventually placing her in the labor market. This digital platform helps to monitor the journey of each aspirant and allows the intervention of various stakeholders - namely the community mobilisers, training centers, employees, supervisors, field officers, etc.
Additionally, Avalon also designed and developed a job portal/database which showcases the availability of jobs in the market. In fact, the field officers attached to this project are constantly in touch with potential employees, inquiring about job availability, training opportunities which eventually constitute the labor market database.
The digital platform also contains a suite of reports for senior managers to better understand the operational aspects of the Manzil project. The Manzil analytical dashboard is a powerful decision-making tool to measure the performance of the programme.
